Hairdressing Discipline Overview
AEA offer students three Hairdressing courses. The Certificate III in Hairdressing is the industry standard qualification, and will provide you with the skills to work as an entry-level hairdresser with the ability to cut, style and colour hair. Students wishing to enhance and develop these practical skills are able to undertake the Certificate IV in Hairdressing. Students who have completed the Certificate III in Hairdressing are also able to progress to the Diploma of Hairdressing (Salon management) which teaches the necessary skills to successfully operate a hairdressing salon.

This course, which combines hairdressing theory with practical experience in a salon, will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work as an entry level hairdresser. It will qualify you to treat, cut, colour and style hair, coordinate a salon team, provide chemical relaxation services, and sell salon products and services.

Course Overview: Certificate IV in Hairdressing (WRH40106) |

This course will further develop students' hairdressing knowledge and technical skills, and allow them to provide leadership, training and support to colleagues. Upon completion of this course, students will be equipped to provide specialist services, including haircutting, hair design, hair colouring, complex colour correction, hair extensions, chemical relaxation and make-up application.

This diploma is the highest hairdressing qualification, and provides students with the skills and knowledge to successfully own, manage or operate a hairdressing salon. Students will be given detailed instruction on a range of technical, strategic and management components specific to the hairdressing industry.
